How to start a book drive

Help Abby's Book Corner to keep spreading across Texas and beyond. If your group would like to start an ABC book drive, here are some considerations.

Find a children's hospital library to support
Check with the staff to see what the needs are of the library.

Drop Boxes
Ask your employers if you can set up a drop off box at your workplace.  Contact local businesses to see if you can put a book drop box at their locations.

Community projects
Many organizations are looking for community projects. A book drive is a great one to start.

School libraries
Check with school libraries at the end of the year to see if librarians are looking to get rid of old books.

Publicize
Email all of your fiends, family and neighbors to see if they have old books they want to donate.

Have a party
Children's birthdays are great times to ask for book donations.

“Abby’s Book Corner was started when a baby was sick in the hospital. She wasn’t even 2-years-old when she died of a disease. Her parents started Abby’s Book Drive so kids who are in the hospital can read their favorite books while they are sick.” - Matthew Moya, San Antonio student
